Hmong Public Health Association

NYOB ZOO (HELLO)!

The Hmong Public Health Association is a volunteer-led, national grassroots organization with Hmong members and leaders across all sectors of public health in the United States. As a historically oppressed community, it is essential that we have a place where we can connect, share resources and show support for each other. HPHA's purpose is to provide a professional networking community and tools/resources for Hmong Public Health students and professionals. Our mission is "to serve and foster a collaborative community through shared resources and networks for Hmong Public Health students and professionals at all levels". Our vision is "Building a family and network of Hmong Public Health professionals, and combining our unique cultural experiences to transform public health practice, literature, and policy." 

HPHA was formed by a small group of Hmong Public Health professionals during the height of the pandemic, when Hmong Public Health professionals recognized a severe lack of resources to advocate for the communities that they serve. This need resulted in the conception of HPHA and collaboration with the Coalition of Asian American Leaders (CAAL) to write the report titled "A Race to Close the Disproportionate COVID-19 Death Rates in Minnesota's Asian Community". 

Your donation helps to ensure HPHA's longevity and supports our current endeavors to:

-Host a National Hmong Public Health Conference, where Hmong Public Health Professionals and Students can gather to share cross-cutting research and network

-Provide our members with workshops, networking opportunities, and other professional development resources

-Provide our members the opportunities to collaborate with local/national stakeholders on public health agendas
