Established in 1965, the Hemophilia Foundation of Minnesota/Dakotas (HFMD) is the only resource of its kind in Minnesota. In June 2025, the organization rebranded as "Upper Midwest Bleeding Disorders Alliance".  More than a new name, it's a renewed commitment to broader inclusion, stronger voices and deeper impact. New name. New logo. New website.  Same commitment.

We provide children, families, and adults affected by bleeding disorders with programs that educate, connect and programs that advocate on behalf of our community. Bleeding Disorders are an inherited life-threatening disease which can cause severe pain and physical limitations.

Our programs and support services include: an amazing summer camp for kids to learn about their condition while having the time of their lives, financial assistance for people with bleeding disorders experiencing hardship, post-secondary scholarships, family education and programs for women and teens. We work closely with our affiliated Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTCs) of Minnesota to help our community lead healthy and active lives.
