Helping Children Worldwide is the Child Rescue Centre & Mercy Hospital in Bo, Sierra Leone.

Helping Children Worldwide was launched with the establishment of the Child Rescue Centre (CRC) in Bo, Sierra Leone in 2000, during that country's brutal civil war.  The CRC, which originated as a street-feeding program, has grown to become a national model for raising at-risk children in Sierra Leone, one of the poorest nations in the world.  Today, the CRC cares for more than 300 children and youth in residential, child support, foster care and post-secondary education programs.  Mercy Hospital grew out of the mission CRC to provide for children and families affected by extreme poverty, war and disease.  Mercy cares for more than 800 patients each month regardless of ability to pay, and provides education, prevention and treatment programs for malaria, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and malnutrition.  The hospital also provides maternal and infant care, and is having a powerful impact on Sierra Leone's high maternal and infant mortality.
