Give to the Max Day 2023: We are thrilled to focus this year's Give to the Max Day on our outdoor play space! Funds raised during this campaign will help us acquire more plants and trees, purchase a sun shade, re-mulch the playground, and other initiatives to make our playground more beautiful, loving, and eco-friendly. Montessori education is whole-child education, and we are so lucky to have a big, natural play space right in the middle of Northeast Minneapolis. Donations ensure we can provide more learning opportunities in our outdoor prepared environment.

Heartwood Montessori is an inclusive community where children 16 months-6 years old are allowed to learn and explore at their own pace. Heartwood provides a welcoming toddler and preschool environment with beautiful materials that offer the child an opportunity to “learn by doing.” These carefully chosen materials help the child to build independence and feel success in their work. Our experienced educators are passionate about supporting each child on their individual journey. 

At Heartwood, children foster independence, build community, and become empowered by their work. By using time-tested, child-centered Montessori methods, we instill in them a spirit of grace, courtesy, helpfulness, compassion, and motivated action. They develop the same skills, attributes, and confidence that we proudly exhibit as Northeasters ourselves.
