🌳 Give to the Max 2025: Investing in What Matters Most — Our People and Our Children 🌿

For ten years, Heartwood Montessori has been part of the vibrant fabric of Northeast Minneapolis — a place where children, families, and educators come together to grow in community. We’re more than a school; we’re a resource, a gathering place, and a living example of what it means to nurture belonging from the very beginning.

This Give to the Max, we’re raising funds to support Staff Training and Scholarships — two essential roots of Heartwood’s mission that sustain the quality, depth, and inclusivity of our community.

💛 The Heart of Montessori

Montessori education is both an art and a science — a highly specialized practice that demands deep study, reflection, and compassion. Montessori guides are not only educators; they are observers of human potential, cultivators of independence, and stewards of peace. Specialized Montessori training programs are intensive, transformative, and time consuming, and most entail travel out of state for participation.

By supporting staff training, you’re helping our dedicated educators deepen their understanding of child development, strengthen their skills, and share their wisdom through mentorship and collaboration. These investments ripple outward — nurturing not only individual guides but the entire ecosystem of learning that surrounds each child.

🌼 Growing Together: Scholarships for Heartwood Families

Our Scholarship Fund opens doors for families to remain at Heartwood through the full Montessori cycle — especially the Kindergarten year, the final and most transformative stage of early childhood.

We believe so deeply in the importance of this year — the culmination of confidence, leadership, and mastery — that Heartwood dedicates a portion of our annual budget to give a 30% tuition discount to all families who have completed at least one full year in the Children’s House, and are enrolling in that final leadership year.

Too often, families feel pressure to leave before this moment of full bloom. Your donation ensures they can stay, thrive, and witness their child’s growth unfold as intended.

📘 About Heartwood Montessori

Heartwood Montessori is an inclusive community where children 16 months–6 years old are allowed to learn and explore at their own pace. Heartwood provides a welcoming toddler and preschool environment with beautiful materials that offer the child an opportunity to “learn by doing.” These carefully chosen materials help the child to build independence and feel success in their work. Our experienced educators are passionate about supporting each child on their individual journey.

At Heartwood, children foster independence, build community, and become empowered by their work. By using time-tested, child-centered Montessori methods, we instill in them a spirit of grace, courtesy, helpfulness, compassion, and motivated action. They develop the same skills, attributes, and confidence that we proudly exhibit as Northeasters ourselves.
