HOABCR is dedicated to helping Border Collies and herding breed mixes in need. We often rescue dogs with the most urgent needs and provide medical care, rehabilitation and training while helping dogs learn to trust in loving foster homes. HOABCR has built strong partnerships with other rescue organizations throughout the Upper Mid-West and across the county. We believe by working together we can accomplish more. Our group is based in the Twin Cities and we have foster homes throughout the state of Minnesota and in Wisconsin.
We have matched over 600 dogs with their families since 2016. HOABCR also currently provides sanctuary for 2 dogs, one with severe emotional wounds and one with a serious medical condition. You can follow Josie’s ongoing progress on The Diary of a Shy Dog found on our Facebook page. Get updates on Olive who delights us as she starts her third year with a precarious inoperable heart condition. These dogs live with families who help them daily to live their best lives.
Heart of a Border Collie Rescue is an all volunteer organization. Every dollar counts and every dollar goes directly to the care of dogs in our rescue. We are proud to have earned a rare gold star rating with Guide Star and are grateful for your support and your partnership.
