Hastings Educational Scholarship Program, Inc. (HESPI) is a 501(c)3 charitable organization and the umbrella organization of the Miss Hastings Scholarship Program (MHSP). We empower young women to realize their best potential, mentor them to obtain scholarships, and support them to achieve their goals through education and serving others for the benefit of all. As an official preliminary competition to Miss Minnesota (MMSO) and the Miss America Organization (MAO), MHSP is part of a movement that inspires young women to reach beyond their grasp to earn these titles and their life objectives. We accomplish it by mentoring them to practically apply their education and skill set professionally and personally.

MAO, the largest provider of educational assistance to young women in the nation, propels them to socially impact their community’s quality of life and promote citizen awareness with an initiative all their own. The MHSP guide to achieving these goals is the MAO motto: “Prepare great women for the world. Prepare the world for great women.” Our inspiration to pursue them is the iconic history of the MAO and its Four Points of the Crown: Style. Service. Scholarship. Success.

       - Style is not skin deep. It comes from integrity within.

       - Service builds selfless leadership to help others.

       - Scholarship comes from wise stewardship of our gifts to excel, then, improve the world around us.

       - Success results when we humbly practice the first three Points of the Crown.

These principals direct and motivate MHSP, each candidate, and titleholder to practically apply the educated and innate gifts they possess. It encourages the performing arts and healthy lifestyles, prepares young women vocationally, promotes our community, and unites its residents. So take a look and donate to our program because we aim to raise $5,000 for the scholarship fund of our 2022 competition! We give cash awards to Miss Hastings and her runners-up, as well as awards to each winner of the talent category, People’s Choice, and the Spirit of Miss America award annually. Our hope is to outgive ourselves.
