At Habitat for Humanity of Minnesota, we envision a world where everyone has a safe, stable, and affordable place to live. Our mission is to bring people together to build homes, community, and hope.

To achieve our mission, we rely on the support of a community of generous individuals like you. We are excited to introduce a special initiative for the 2023 Give to the Max Day: the #DuckDuckDonate challenge! Together, we'll travel the state playing duck, duck, donate with Habitat for Humanity offices. Learn about Habitat’s work in your neighborhood, how our office supports the entire Minnesota Habitat network, and the community members who benefit. Check out our social media pages to discover which part of the state Ducky is visiting!

With this challenge, you have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Minnesota families by supporting Habitat for Humanity of Minnesota. 

While we all agree that Minnesota needs more affordable places for our neighbors to live, we might have differing views on what to call this fun childhood game. Are you Team #DuckDuckGoose? Make your donation on the Goose campaign page. Are you Team #DuckDuckGrayDuck? Make your donation on the Gray Duck campaign page. No matter which team you support, you’ll be helping us expand opportunities for safe and affordable homes for Minnesotans!

After donating to Habitat for Humanity of Minnesota, the #DuckDuckDonate Challenge invites you to take it a step further, like the well-loved childhood game, by tagging a friend and inviting them to join you in the #DuckDuckDonate challenge. Together, you can double the impact of your donations and spread the word about our mission to create safe, stable, and affordable homes for all.

At Habitat Minnesota, we work tirelessly in four key areas to advance affordable homeownership:

1. Public Policy and Advocacy: We advocate for increased funding and decreased barriers to affordable homeownership opportunities.
2. Training and Technical Assistance: We provide support and guidance to Habitat staff who play diverse roles at local Habitat offices.
3. Fundraising and Lending Programs: Your donations fuel our work in communities statewide, helping accelerate the rate of building in Minnesota.
4. Disaster Response and Recovery: We stand by our local Habitat organizations during tumultuous times, offering support to stabilize the organizations and their communities.

After Habitat homeowners move into their safe, stable, and affordable homes, countless opportunities open up for them. They can expand their families, adopt pets, further their education, pursue new careers, and, most importantly, spend quality time together as a family.

“Since moving into our Habitat house almost ten years ago… I have since had another child, so now I have a two-year-old and also a fifteen-year-old who is a sophomore in high school. I’ve seen my 15-year-old grow up in this house, but now I will also see my two-year-old grow up in this house, and that’s really, really special and an amazing thing for me as a mom. Some of the little things that we’ve noticed after buying and moving into our Habitat home were just the safe and secure feeling that you have when you finally know that something is yours. And you don’t have to worry about neighbors or anything like that, and it’s just so peaceful and calming.
