WHO IS GREAT RIVER GREENING?

Help us raise $15,000 on Give to the Max Day!

Your Give to the Max Day gift will fund important restoration work
that both transforms Minnesota’s natural areas and protects our delicate climate.

By restoring green spaces and waterways—as we’ve done alongside thousands of volunteers and donors for 27 years—we’re fighting the harmful effects of climate change in Minnesota.

Healthy, resilient prairies, forests, and wetlands trap excess carbon that would otherwise threaten our delicate ecosystem. The result? Lower greenhouse gas emissions, cleaner air and water, and overall improved quality of life.

Did you know?

Great River Greening’s work sequesters 61,000 metric tons of carbon,
the equivalent of taking 13,260 cars off the road each year!

EXTEND YOUR IMPACT!

Many thanks to Adolfson & Peterson Construction, who will generously be matching EVERY Give to the Max Day gift to Great River Greening (up to $15,000!)

Land and Water Restoration

Our volunteers and ecologists have restored more than 400 natural areas—including parks, wildlife areas, and shorelines—into beautiful, resilient landscapes. By planting trees and pollinator-friendly habitat, removing invasive species, and engaging the agricultural community in sustainable solutions, we address Minnesota’s most threatening environmental challenges.

Volunteer Stewardship

We inspire volunteers of all ages to care for Minnesota’s land and water. Our “learn by doing” approach prepares volunteers with the knowledge and experience to restore natural areas in their own neighborhoods.

Future Stewards

The values and priorities of today’s youth determine the health of Minnesota’s green spaces in the future. In partnership with schools, we teach kids about environmental threats and more importantly, how to solve them.
