The mission of Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery is to end child abuse and neglect and create strong, healthy families.
On most nights in Minneapolis, there are more than 2,000 children counted among the homeless. And 63,000 children, 5 years and under, live in poverty in this state. And tragically, it’s these children, the poorest and most vulnerable, who are at the greatest risk for abuse and neglect.
This year, Hennepin Country is on track to receive a record 20,000 reports of child abuse. 20,000. Can you live with these numbers? We can’t.
Our bold mission at Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery is to end child abuse and neglect and create strong, healthy families. When we provide immediate, concrete support for parents who live each day on the brink of crisis, we prevent child abuse and neglect.
Though our services, including a 24-hour crisis line, crisis counseling, respite care for children, parent education, and a home visiting program, we keep children safe and help moms and dads become better parents.
Every child in our community deserves to feel safe and secure. They deserve to live free of the toxic stress that impairs their ability to learn and robs them of their health.
Don’t you believe all children deserve to experience joy and hold hope in their hearts?
