In the year 2000, veteran tribal school teachers Mary Hermes and Kevin Roach, along with numerous Elders and community member collaborators, developed Ojibwe language learning software called Ojibwemodaa!  They needed some infrastructure to aid in the distribution of this software and Grassroots Indigenous Multimedia (GIM) was born.  Since that time, the organization has maintained its commitment to developing high quality language learning materials through the creation of books, curriculum, and professional development.  We have also strengthened our community ties through increased involvement with educators, learners, and activists in Red Lake, White Earth, Fond du Lac, LCO, and the greater Twin Cities metropolitan area.

We are proud of the work we do and grateful to have your support.
