Building Homes. Building Hope. Building Community.
Since becoming a Habitat homeowner, Jodi has seen a vast
improvement in the health of her two daughters, "Our lives are so much
better. My children have allergies and they use much less medications. My
oldest daughter has asthma and she has not had to use her inhaler since we moved
in."
Since 1993. Goodhue County
Habitat for Humanity has partnered with 47 families to provide simple, decent, safe,
affordable homes. Each and every day, those families enjoy improved health,
education, and personal well being.
The now-adult children of
eight of 13 GCHFH homeowner families are attending or have recently graduated
from college or technical school. All GCHFH homeowner families with eligible
children are participating in the Imagination Library program. It is
unlikely that any of the children who grew up in Habitat homes will themselves
become Habitat homeowners – our program interrupts the cycle of poverty.
