Good Counsel Learning Center transforms lives through education.

We are a nonprofit learning center for local students, both youth and adult, learning essential literacy and math skills. We also work with immigrants and refugees who need our help transitioning to the next stage of their journey.

Our Tutors

Our tutors develop a special relationship with their students. They guide students through their course of study keeping in mind the CORE values of our organization, while teaching students the skills they need to be successful at school or work. Our teachers and tutors work with our Academic Manager to find or develop a curriculum tailored to each student.

Our Students

The pandemic and the consequent switch to remote learning has widened the achievement gap. At-risk students, such as English Language Learners, special education students, and those living in poverty are falling behind. GCLC, however, is the bridge to help them get back on the right track, or on towards their dreams: one-on-one tutoring provides learners an opportunity to “catch up” while fostering confidence and a lifelong love of learning.

Your support enables us to continue empowering marginalized and vulnerable members of the community.  Donations pay for student scholarships, classroom accommodations and modifications, professional development for staff, and distance learning technology.
