We have been blessed - the local MN paddling community welcomed a youth club with open arms. They embraced us with support from donated equipment to expert coaching. For revenue, we rely on membership fees. We host two canoe races each summer, the Long Lake Lap, on Long Lake in New Brighton and the Jensen Handicap on the Rum or Mississippi River, open to all. We rely on donations for additional revenue.
Our mission has expanded since our club's inception over 12 years ago from racing at the high school level to now also include focus areas for adults and recreational paddling and touring. Paddling provides a great low impact way to get in shape and enhance your other sports with upper body conditioning.
Our goal is to introduce and or improve your paddling skills and abilities and try out a variety of watercraft and learn new skills for fun, touring or racing. Instructors vary from serious racers to recreational paddlers who have paddled all over the world and want to share their joy.
We offer affordable opportunities to build skills in a supportive environment for teens and adults of all abilities.
The RCBC has canceled the 2020 summer programming along with the Long Lake Lap and the Jensen Handicap, which are the main revenue generators of the club.
As we begin planning for a full schedule of 2021 programming and events, we are committed to providing a truly diverse and equitable space for all paddle sport participants. Your donation today will support our ability to hire a paid coach to enhance our 2021 programming.
Thank you for your continued support of the RCBC and our vision: to grow paddle sports in the Twin Cities by offering a variety of affordable opportunities to build skills in a supportive environment for teens and adults of all abilities
We are a Minnesota-based 501(c)3 non-profit. 100% of your donation is tax deductible, 100% of your donation goes to our club for programs and equipment.
Thank you for your generous support!
