Gamer’s Rhapsody is a nonprofit dedicated to connecting artists, musicians, developers, and every kind of video game fan to offer creative events, unique experiences, and educational resources while building a community that promotes and celebrates the art of video games and those who make it. Our events are 100% volunteer run.
VGM CON is an annual video games & music convention held in Minneapolis, MN on April 1-3, 2022. This event celebrates the art of video games with live performances of video game music, panels, workshops, a music improv jam space, local and regional video game developers, artists, open gaming, tournaments, and more.
In 2021, VGM CON was hosted online for free enabling attendees from around the world. This online format helped us reach new people who could normally not travel to Minnesota for our event — greatly expanding our reach. In addition, our event raised $10,000 for Sweet Relief Musicians Fund to support musicians affected by COVID-19.
In 2022, our event will return to its in-person format while also keeping much of the online programming so attendees anywhere can continue to be inspired by the art of video games.
Gamer's Rhapsody is proud of our educational and artistic efforts to inspire creators and future creators to further develop their crafts. Video games offer an exciting and relevant topic to learn new skills. From musicians learning a challenging new Mario piece to an artist learning how to animate a character design. Our event helps develop these skills by offering programming like an orchestra clinic, improv jam clinic, masterclass workshops, a youth game jam, and more.
Your contributions will help VGM CON invest in additional educational and artistic programming at VGM CON and future events for all ages. Our organization aims to maximize opportunity while minimizing the barrier of entry. Further contributions will help our organization reach out to new communities through new programming options.
