Friedell Middle School

Friedell Middle School opened its doors in September 1997 to students from all across the Rochester Public School District.  The current school population is approximately 450 students.  Students, staff, and parents/guardians enjoy the small school environment.  

Friedell's students, parents, and staff are dedicated to student learning.  Our middle school philosophy aims to meet the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs of early adolescents.  We are committed to the development of children as responsible, accountable learners. 

With the ongoing pandemic, the strain on mental health, and the difficult environment our teachers are really feeling burnout.  We are hoping to incorporate an Educator Resiliency Center in our building, that will move to the new Dakota Middle School as well.  This room will support staff, all staff, in their health and wellness.  We anticipate havign items like "happy lights", essential oil diffusers, calming music, meditation opportunities, and mindfulness exercises.  

We are also considering some Yoga equipment, or other healing items for this room.  Please know this will benefit all of our staff, and in turn our students as well!
