FLOC provides educational services beyond the classroom to help students succeed from first grade through college and career.

According to a 2006 study by the Bridgespan Group, of every 100 students who enter the 9th grade in DCPS, only 43 will graduate from high school, and only 9 will complete a post-secondary degree within 5 years of high school graduation.

It is critical that we break this cycle of low achievement. There is plenty of research that provides compelling evidence that when students are challenged academically and given high expectations, they can and do achieve at high levels. Unfortunately, many DCPS students are not challenged or given the resources they need to reach their potential.

FLOC keeps students moving along the pipeline from earliest years of elementary school, through the dropout risks of middle school and ensures on-time graduation by providing for our kids the quality and consistency of resources beyond the classroom that are often inaccessible to low-income students and underserved communities.

For the last four years, 100% of FLOC's high school seniors have graduated from high school and are now pursuing post-secondary education.

For Love of Children makes a long-term commitment to our students. In their years with us, they have learning moments that teach them critical skills and monumental accomplishments that empower them. It's the combination of these that give them the knowledge, confidence, and ability to transform their futures.

Help us teach, help us empower, and help us transform our students' futures.
