Foundation for Essential Needs (FFEN)

Foundation For Essential Needs (FFEN) strengthens food shelves across the state of Minnesota, transforming the hunger relief system in the process.

Food shelves are an increasingly vital community resource as more individuals and families struggle to meet their needs for food. Often operating in isolation on shoestring budgets and sustained by volunteers, food shelves are limited in their capacity to increase or improve their services on their own, especially as the needs of their diverse communities evolve.

This is where FFEN comes in! FFEN strengthens food shelves from the inside out by:

-- Supporting their leaders

-- Amplifying their reach

-- Enhancing their services to meet the increasing and evolving needs for food in communities across Minnesota

FFEN creates tangible and sustainable change for communities facing food insecurity.

Since 2013, FFEN has partnered with over 200 food shelves – half of the food shelves in Minnesota – and we are just getting started!

With your support, we can strengthen 250 food shelves in the year ahead that are keeping hunger at bay for 225,000 individuals and families in Minnesota.
