Supporting burn trauma survivors, Firefighters and their families.
Firefighters For Healing is a non-profit organization founded in 2010 by a Minneapolis
firefighter who tragically experienced first hand what burn survivors endure.
"The work of FF4H and Camp Red has come to mean so much to us over the last 6 months. Our daughter seems so much lighter and happier compared to before we met you all. She no longer only looks at her scars as a reminder of pain or something that makes her different, but as something that connects her to her friends at Camp Red. I can’t tell you how much that means to us. Thank you so much for everything. Being a part of this special group has meant the world. ❤️”. - a Camp RED parent.
"We are forever grateful to you for taking your pain and allowing God to turn it into this powerful purpose called Firefighters for Healing. This has been such a blessing to us.
From the moment you opened the door and said, “This is your place,” the tears just flowed, and the Healing began. This safe haven allowed us to bring our family together to walk our loved one to his eternal home on the highway to heaven, we love and
appreciate you, Jake, and everyone who
is a part of this mission. We are forever grateful. Thank you so very much."

"When my son was 8, him and a friend were playing with gasoline and fire. The fire got too big and my son tried to step on it to put it out. There was gas all over his pants, and they instantly went up in flames.
We spent the next month in the burn unit at Hennepin Healthcare as he required skin grafts on both of his legs. After we'd been home for a while, I got a call from Kurt in the burn unit telling me that my son was eligible for Camp RED. I'd never heard of it and knew nothing about F4H. That year we went to the camp for the first time. As a single mom, I didn’t have enough money to be able to send my son to camp. I never saw a bill or charge for anything. My son and I both had the time of our lives!
There was horseback riding, water activities, and the staff even hired a professional fisherman to come in and give the boys in my son's cabin private fishing lessons since they all showed an interest in that. The cabins were amazing, and the food was even better! The counselors helped both of us deal with our mental health issues relating to the fire, and everyone there was so caring and supportive and really went out of their way to make sure we had the best experience possible.
This year was our second year there, and we are already looking forward to when we get to go back next year. Going to Camp Red has helped my son to open up and not be so self-conscious about his scars.
And he's made so many friends there. Camp RED has made a such a positive impact on both of us,
and I will be forever grateful for all they've done for us.
