Creating Change

Because of supporters like you, Family Equality has a 45 year legacy of advocating for LGBTQ+ families. In fact, we've played a pivotal role in...

• Advancing marriage equality in Minnesota and across the nation
• Creating policies and practices that protect LGBTQ+ families in schools, healthcare settings, child welfare agencies, and more
• Pushing back against harmful legislation that seeks to silence or restrict the freedoms of LGBTQ+ families

And that's just a snapshot! This year alone, we've brought the stories of LGBTQ+ families to the Supreme Court through our amicus brief in Mahmoud v Taylor, advanced important parentage protections in states like New Mexico and Vermont, and released a new-and-improved resource library to provide families with the support they need to navigate this uncertain political climate.

Making Minnesota magic

We might be a national nonprofit, but our Minnesota roots run deep. In addition to leading efforts to pass marriage equality in Minnesota, Family Equality is proud to host Family Weekend in the Midwest — a beloved Minnesota event designed to bring families together for fun and connection. This October, dozens of families joined us for a jam-packed schedule of activities tailored for all ages.

Continuing our legacy
