Family Alternatives Inc

Family Alternatives is a trauma-informed, youth-driven foster care agency that has been serving Minnesota children, teens, foster families, and kinship providers since 1978. Founded by foster parents, our agency emerged to enhance relationships, advocate for services, and support the development of youth in the foster care system. 

For more than 45 years, we have supported youth and families through transitions by centering youth voices, strengthening relationships, and creating nurturing environs for children to thrive.

Immediate essentials such as clothing, school supplies, and emergency items. 

Experiences and activities where youth can connect with peers who share similar experiences. 

Support for caregivers stepping in with little notice 

Guidance, advocacy, and mentorship to help youth develop healthy, lasting relationships. 

Opportunities for leadership, healing, and personal growth 

Safe, nurturing foster homes where children can find stability and belonging.
