The Dwelling Place. Where abuse ends and healing begins.
When a woman fleeing domestic abuse enter the program at The Dwelling Place, she finds shelter from the abuse she’s suffered, assistance to alleviate her immediate physical and financial hardships, and a safe place to work out the trauma that seeks to destroy her life.
Where Jesus can be found among the hurting.
Those who have suffered at the hands of an abuser not only need help to overcome the physical and emotional distress, she needs a loving Savior who will transform her heart and rewrite her life’s story to become who she was created to be.
Where abuse survivors dare to hope again.
The untold horrors of domestic abuse leave women and their children in perpetual fear for their safety, exhausted from the daily struggle to survive, feeling undeserving of love, humiliated and ashamed, constantly worried about how to make ends meet, scarred physically and emotionally, and ultimately broken and alone. We support these survivors by showing them that they are seen and believed. We introduce them to care that is trauma-informed. We show them the love of Jesus and the difference He makes to set us free from the past. We surround them with a supportive community of fellow survivors.
With the level of support and care received at The Dwelling Place, and the power of God on their side, victims and survivors dare to believe they can overcome the trauma of the abuse they’ve suffered to live a new life of freedom and purpose authored by their Creator.
