The Disabled Veterans National Foundation exists to change the lives of men & women who came home wounded or sick after defending US freedom

Eliminating homelessness among America's military heroes is one of DVNF's highest priorities.  The VA estimates more than 300,000 vets are homeless on any given night.  As the weather begins to turn to snow and freezing temperatures, help us provide shelter, food and other resources for our veterans.

Did you know...

*23% of homeless population are vets

*1.5 million vets are considered at risk of homelessness due to poverty

The urgency of the problem is growing as more people return from service in Iraq and Afghanistan. The study found 11,300 younger veterans, 18 to 30, were in shelters at some point during 2009. Virtually all served in Iraq or Afghanistan, said Mark Johnston, deputy assistant secretary for special needs at the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Give to the Max Day: Greater Washington, is a massive one-day regional online fundraiser to support local programs. On Give to the Max Day more than a thousand non-profits serving the greater Washington region will ask donors to display their generosity in a region-wide competition to raise as much money and gain as many supporters as possible in order for the organizations to win cash awards. For 24 hours, starting at 12:00 a.m. on November 9th, non-profits will drive their supporters online to donate, creating a huge display of support for one of the region's largest sectors. Over $100,000 in cash will be awarded to local non-profits that amass the most donations as well as those that attract the most individual donors. 100% of the proceeds raised by Disabled Veterans National Foundation during Give to the Max Day will benefit DVNF program services.
