About Ski for Light, Inc.
Ski for Light, Inc. is a Minneapolis-based, all-volunteer non-profit organization that enhances the quality of life and independence of visually- or mobility-impaired adults through a program of cross-country skiing.

Each year, Ski for Light conducts a week-long International Week that attracts upwards of 250 participants and guides. 

During the Ski for Light week, each visually- or mobility-impaired skier is paired for the entire week with an experienced, sighted, able-bodied cross-country skier who acts as ski instructor and guide.

Most of these visually- and mobility-impaired skiers discover, in the process of learning how to cross-country ski, that they can accomplish much more than others have told them, and much more than they themselves believed. 

They leave Ski for Light with a sense of accomplishment and motivation that carries over to every aspect of their lives back home.

About the Delta Gamma Foundation
The Delta Gamma Foundation fosters lifetime enrichment for members through scholarships, fellowships, and grants; promotes Service for Sight; and partners with the Fraternity to ensure the future of our sisterhood.

Our philanthropy, Service for Sight, supports the five schools founded by Delta Gammas and other North American organizations that provide access and advocacy for people in the blind or visually impaired community or who promote sight preservation and conservation. 

This philanthropy has been at the heart of the Delta Gamma mission since 1936 when a member who was blind, Ruth Billow, Eta-Akron, petitioned to adopt “Aid to the Blind” as our official philanthropy.
