Donate now to help seniors get the resources and support they need!
Aging impacts everyone. Over time, we may not be able to do the things we want to. And things that used to be easy are now difficult or impossible. You can help transform the aging journey from a challenge into a celebration!
DARTS provides much-needed services for older adults, including transportation, outdoor chores, household repairs, resource navigation, caregiver support, and more. Many clients share they don't know what they'd do without DARTS.
YOU can help local seniors get the resources and support they need to live more fulfilling and independent lives.
Together, we will create connections that enrich aging!
Make a Lasting Impact
Minnesota's older adult population is growing. According to MN Compass, there are currently almost 950,000 adults age 65 and older in Minnesota, making up almost 17% of the population. By 2038, that population is projected to top 1.26 million, and more than 1 out of every 5 Minnesotans will be an older adult. Yet, only 1% of all philanthropic dollars are designated to aging services.
Make a lasting impact this year on Give to the Max by helping DARTS serve a growing population in need of support.
The Importance of Caregiver Support
Older adults are much more likely to have a health condition that makes it difficult to live independently without help. Older adults prefer to stay in their homes as long as possible, and DARTS provides the support that makes that possible. DARTS also provides outlets to help older adults connect and engage in their community, reducing isolation and loneliness.
What about those providing care to their aging loved ones? For the growing population of spouses, children, family, and friends that are providing care for their aging loved ones, DARTS provides caregiver counseling and coaching. Social workers provide support, guidance, and resource navigation. Being a caregiver can take a toll on everyone – your life is simply not the same. Because this can happen to anyone, access to information is key to navigating aging in a positive way.
Most seniors prefer to continue to live at home, nearer their family and friends. Caregivers and DARTS provide assistance to ensure seniors are safe.
