A Montessori and Science School Where Students Feel Challenged, Trusted and Successful

šŸ‘‹ Welcome to Our Collaborative Learning Environment!

We are pleased to share the distinctive educational approach that defines our school. We offer a dual-focus model, seamlessly blending the renowned Montessori method with an intensive hands-on Science program.

šŸ¤ Fostering Teamwork and Community (Montessori)

Teamwork is a foundational value that prepares students for life and world citizenship. Our classrooms are designed to foster cooperation, self-discipline, and social awareness through:

  • Cooperative Classrooms: We feature multi-grade classrooms that cultivate a welcoming, family-like atmosphere where students naturally learn from and teach one another.
  • Consistent Mentorship: Our dedicated teachers stay with students for two to three years, building deep, supportive relationships that nurture self-direction and peacemaking skills.
  • Life Skills: Students learn from each other by demonstrating self-direction, self-discipline, peacemaking, and a sense of world citizenship.

šŸ”¬ Science, Innovation, and Exploration

Crossroads Science, places a strong emphasis on STEM, which is integrated into all core subjects, is supported through our school specialists and serves as the foundation for reading, writing, and math:

  • Hands-On Learning: Hands-on science is incorporated directly into our science classrooms. Students engage in project-based learning to build machines and design and conduct investigations in a science/engineering lab.
  • Specialist Instruction: All students in both the Montessori and Science programs benefit from instruction with the same specialists in Engineering, Technology, Physical Education (Phy. Ed), and Art.
  • Rich Resources: A bright and beautiful library/media center offers even more resources for discovery.
  • Enrichment Programs: Extended day and learning activity programs include opportunities like the Lego League competition.

🌟 Monthly Focus on Character

We dedicate each month to exploring an essential virtue, ensuring that social-emotional development is a consistent part of the student experience. We are focusing on the book Inch and Miles The Journey to Success by coach John Wooden to help students connect with and understand each virtue.
