Forming the next generation of Crosiers

Dear Friends,

Now Thank We All Our God...

Without a doubt, this is such a beloved and familiar hymn that you can likely recall the verses by heart. During this season, it holds a special place in our hearts as we reflect on the bountiful harvest, a perennial gift from God.

This year, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the three young Crosiers who have recently professed their vows: Br. Christopher Erran, osc, who professed his first vows; Br. Eric Kalimbiriro, osc, who renewed his vows; and Br. Salama Vivalya, osc, who professed his solemn vows. Their vows signify not only their personal journey but also the future they represent for our Order. How blessed we are to witness their faith and dedication!

For you, too, our dear friends, we give thanks to God with our hearts, hands, and voices. It is your prayers, friendship, and unwavering support that have blessed us in countless ways and empower us to thrive as servants of the Church.

Your incredible generosity is instrumental in supporting the future generations of Crosiers through our international formation program. At present, five young Crosiers are enrolled in the program and pursuing their education at St. John's School of Theology and Seminary. It's truly a blessing to witness the Spirit's guidance in their lives.

Furthermore, these young confreres represent hope for our future—our long future—and are deeply touched by your commitment to stand by our side as we shape this next generation of Crosiers, our leaders of tomorrow.

This international formation program is only possible with your support. I turn to you again during this annual Give to the Max appeal and invite you to partner with us. Your investment in these eager and faith-filled young Crosiers will echo through generations as they serve the Church with passion and purpose wherever the Crosiers live and serve the Church.

My fellow Crosiers, young and old alike, here in the United States and around the world, join me in thanking God for you. We lift you up in prayer with grateful hearts and wish you abundant blessings this Thanksgiving.

Gratefully yours in the Holy Cross,

Fr. Kermit Holl, osc
Prior, Crosier Community of Onamia

PS: If you are able, please consider your most generous gift to partner with us in preparing the next generation of Crosiers to serve the Church. Your generosity to our Give to the Max campaign will profoundly impact these young Crosiers.

About Us

Established in 1910, the Crosier Community of Onamia is a vibrant priory (monastery) of Roman Catholic religious priests and brothers who serve the local, national and international needs of the Church. The priory church is also home to the National Shrine of St. Odilia, the oldest national shrine in Minnesota.

Today there are about 400 Crosiers living and ministering in the United States, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Indonesia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Brazil, and in Rome, where the Order is based.
