Partner with us to educate, form and sustain the next generation of Crosiers

Dear Friends,

Now Thank We All Our God... Without a doubt, this is such a beloved and familiar hymn that you can probably sing the rest of it from memory. Indeed, during this time of year it has a particularly special place in our hearts as we celebrate the bounty of the harvest which is God’s perennial gift to us.

This year we are especially grateful for the ordination of our Father Daniel to the priesthood and the solemn professions of our Brothers Marcos and Paul in Onamia. How God has blessed us!

And for you, our dear friends, we give thanks to God with our hearts, hands, and voices. Your prayers, friendship, and support have blessed us in countless ways and we are most grateful, for we could not thrive as servants of the Church without your supporting kindness.

This year your generosity has helped us launch a new international formation program for newly professed Crosiers, and we have now three young Crosiers studying English and Crosier formation in the United States with plans for another four Crosiers to join them next year.

This two-year program is intended to provide younger members of our Order from Congo, Indonesia, and Brazil with an experience of our international character and to help prepare them for excellent engagement in English at all our international meetings.

Brothers Eric and Paul are taking courses in theology at St. John’s University and Seminary. Brother Salama is currently studying English and will join Eric and Paul at  St. John’s next year.

What a blessing to sense the movement of the Spirit in the lives of these young confreres. They provide hope for the future—our long future.

This international formation program would not be possible without your support.  I turn to you again during this annual Give to the Max appeal and invite you to partner with us. Will you invest in these willing and faith-filled young Crosiers so that they can serve the Church as our Crosier leaders of tomorrow?

My fellow Crosiers, young and old alike, here in the United States and throughout the world, join me in thanking God for you. With grateful hearts we lift you up in prayer and wish you abundant blessings this Thanksgiving.

Gratefully yours in the Holy Cross,

Fr. Kermit Holl, osc
Prior, Crosier Community of Onamia

PS: If you are able, please consider your most generous gift to partner with us in preparing the next generation of Crosiers to serve the Church. Your generosity to our Give to the Max campaign will go a long way to support these young Crosiers.

About Us

Established in 1910, the Crosier Community of Onamia is a vibrant priory (monastery) of Roman Catholic religious priests and brothers who serve the local, national and international needs of the Church. The priory church is also home to the National Shrine of St. Odilia, the oldest national shrine in Minnesota.

Today there are about 400 Crosiers living and ministering in the United States, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Indonesia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Brazil, and in Rome, where the Order is based.
