MEDIATION & CONFLICT RESOLUTION PROFESSIONALS

MEDIATION is a proven, effective way for people who are in conflict to create their own agreements. The goal is to find solutions which will meet the needs of both sides and help prevent problems in the future. Participation is voluntary. MEDIATION tends to be faster, less stressful, less costly and mutually satisfying than an adversarial process involving attorneys, court rooms and judges who decide the outcome. In a typical MEDIATION, the persons in conflict sit down in privacy with a professional mediator who acts as a neutral guide to lead them through the process. The mediator helps them to clarify issues, to understand each other's positions and needs, and to seek solutions that allow both sides to agree. The process can be as quick as a couple of hours or may extend over time for complex situations.
