COVID-19 SUPPORT for CO·MOTION COLLECTIVE
CO·MOTION: CENTER FOR MOVEMENT
TURNING MOVEMENT INTO PROGRESS
MISSION: To strengthen our community by inspiring diverse individuals, across generations to build strength and create art under one roof.
VISION: By 2026, Co-Motion will be celebrated as a vibrant hub of community services that serves as a vital component in St. Paul’s increasing quality of life.
We believe that when people of different abilities, ages, races, ethnicities, backgrounds, identities, orientations, shapes, sizes and experiences gather to share a common space and shared outcome, we normalize diversity.
We strive to positively affect children, youth, adults and families to build their strength and be surrounded by a healthier community — in our space, in our city and beyond.
We support individuals in gaining full and equal access to the opportunities and resources needed for success thereby allowing them to achieve a purposeful, sustainable and healthy lifestyle.
We know movement is central to purposeful life, health and progress. At Co-Motion, we believe movement is art and art is movement; together they create challenge while pushing us forward.
Co-Motion is a center for movement which provides the opportunity for intergenerational groups of individuals to take part in community progress by creating a sense of belonging for themselves and having opportunities to pay it forward in service to others.
WHO WE ARE?
CO-MOTION is a destination for all to move and create as individuals, inspired by others doing the same, creating an intergenerational environment of healthy minds and spirits that will serve to enrich the broader community.
The CO·MOTION COLLECTIVE consists of 10 small organizations and individual trainers who occupy the same building and in some instances, share the same studios. Our strength and sustainability rely on us working jointly. Our CO·MOTION COLLECTIVE also serves as CO·MOTION’S Advisory Group.
CO·MOTION seeks to leverage and increase the collective’s ability to work with more underserved community members from children to seniors, giving them access to the life-improving opportunities we believe CO·MOTION will provide.
CO·MOTION will promote all the groups within the collective to the community and help reduce overhead costs thus allowing the collective to provide no-cost to low-cost programming for people and reduce the financial barriers for individuals and families to access opportunities to become healthier, stronger and happier.
CO·MOTION is focused on strengthening the underserved, low-income neighborhoods in St. Paul by specifically engaging individuals and families of Frogtown, Selby/Dale, Hamline-Midway and the North End with our classes and services. Outreach, scholarships and transportation are all services Co-Motion will provide to ensure low-income individuals and families can afford to be a part of CO·MOTION.
With all our appreciation and gratitude,
