City of Lakes Community Land Trust

The City of Lakes Community Land Trust (CLCLT) is a non-profit organization investing in stabilizing communities by providing affordable and sustainable homeownership. Our model enables low-to-moderate-income individuals and families to purchase homes in Minneapolis who may not otherwise be able to experience home ownership.

The CLCLT:

• Helps people achieve homeownership who may not otherwise be able to purchase a home.
• Keeps homes affordable for future homeowners when or if a homeowner decides to sell.
• Offers education and connection throughout homeownership.

CLCLT Facts:

• CLCLT homeowners are 50% less likely to experience foreclosure.
• A 3-year survey of CLCLT homeowners indicated that their post-purchase incomes have risen on average 25%.
• In the same survey, CLCLT homeowners reported being more engaged in their communities and also reported that their children were doing better in school.
• 51% of households served by the CLCLT are Communities of Color (City of Minneapolis: 13%).
