November is our favorite time of year! It's National Adoption Month — an important time of year to recognize adoptees, birth families, and adoptive families. We are committed to providing the best resources and support to adoptees and adoptive families before, during, and after placement.
November is also the month that we launch our annual Little Red Stocking campaign! Our year-end campaign offers an opportunity for generous donors like you to support the work we do and help every child thrive.
When you contribute to Children's Home on Give to the Max Day, you're helping to unite children with loving, nurturing families through adoption. You're ensuring that people touched by adoption are able to receive ongoing post adoption support throughout their lives, and you are helping children facing out-of-home placement find safe, caring foster homes during times of uncertainty.
In our fiscal year 2021, almost 200 children were placed in safe, caring homes through our foster care and adoption programs.
Please donate now to help us carry out our vital mission all year long—you can make a gift on this site, or at chlss.org/donate.
Thank you for your generosity!

Helping Children Thrive
Your gift will unite children in Minnesota and around the world with loving families that will help them reach their full potential. Last year alone, Children’s Home helped 150 children join loving adoptive families and 48 children find safety and security in caring foster homes.
Strengthening Families
Your gift will give parents the vital education needed to create safe, nurturing homes for vulnerable children. It will provide post adoption support to all members of the adoption circle—adoptees, birth families, and adoptive families—throughout their lifelong journey.
Removing Barriers
Your gift will provide adoptees and families with grants from our Adoption Support Fund. These grants ensure that the expense of adoption doesn't prevent a waiting child from coming home. They also ensure adoptees and birth parents are able to access vital post adoption services without financial barriers. Last year, 156 grants were provided to cover the cost of post adoption services.
Renewing Hope
For older children, sibling groups, and children with special needs—children who often wait the longest to be adopted—your gift is the difference between languishing in an orphanage or foster care, and flourishing as beloved members of a family.
Founded in St. Paul in 1889, Children’s Home Society of Minnesota knows that a child in a safe, nurturing home is a child who thrives. Through domestic and international adoption programs, foster care, and post adoption services, Children’s Home works to give every child security, opportunity, and a loving family. We are proud to be an adoptee and BIPOC-led organization. Learn more at chlss.org.
