Chisago County Parks and Trails Foundation

Your generous support assists in the development of multi-use trails to connect people and places within Chisago County, Minnesota.

The Chisago County Parks and Trails Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer led organization working to promote and develop recreational opportunities in collaboration with the county. Formed over a decade ago, we remain a small group with big dreams. In addition to building amenities in our parks, we are focused on completing the Swedish Immigrant Trail which follows the abandoned rail corridor that once connected the historic towns of Taylor's Falls, Shafer, Center City, Lindstrom, Chisago City and Wyoming. With the support of area residents, businesses, institutions and government agencies, we raised over $100,000 as a local match to fund construction of the Sunrise Prairie Trail in 1998. We can do it again for the Swedish Immigrant Trail which today provides visitors with an incredibly beautiful ride through east central Minnesota woodlands and river bluff areas.
