$50,000 Goal

Dear Central High School Community of Support,

It’s Give to the Max week and the Central High School Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is asking for your support! Your gift to the PAC supports the whole school - students, staff, and classrooms. Every single gift, no matter the amount, is important and appreciated.  We are ALL Central.

As Principal Ayers says all the time, we really are all in this T.O.G.E.T.H.E.R. and we will show up with gratitude, grace and generosity.  Our goal of 300 donors will generate the resources needed to show our love and care for each other, create community, and support our students and staff. This year our dollar amount goal is $50,000 with a $20,000 donor match that has been committed; which means that every dollar your family contributes is almost doubled in impact!

These past years have been really hard. It had been without a doubt, one of the most challenging times in Central’s 156 year history. At moments it has been painful to witness Central struggle. And yet, in that struggle we know that we have come together as a stronger community. You as donors are at the heart of that growth and transformation.

The gifts you made to the Central PAC last year were impactful and responsive at a time we needed it the most:

  • You supported over 80 teacher grants that provided classroom support for essential and unmet needs like curriculum, supplies and technology.

  • You also supported several emergency relief fund efforts in response to the global pandemic. You bought masks, lots and lots of masks. to protect students and staff. You bought air purifiers for classrooms.

  • You purchased gift cards for social workers to give to students that allowed them to buy personal hygiene products from the Midway Target.

  • You helped send students to the laundromats with cash so they could have clean clothes to wear to school.

  • You purchased safe single serve meals for staff to be sustained and appreciated during conferences and training days.

  • You helped support efforts around food scarcity for students and staff over the weekends.

Your gifts also lifted up Central and Central students to be joyful and celebrate as life became more normal:

  • You helped fund our first Prom in two years.

  • You supported a Pulitzer Prize winning author to come and speak to students.

  • You brought field trips back! You allowed a large group of students to attend a performance of  “A Raisin In The Sun” at the Guthrie Theater.

  • You helped host a student resource fair for new students to find out what they may want to be involved in.

  • You sent AVID and TRiO students on group college visits and paid for transportation and lunches.

  • You made it possible for the all night graduation party to return.

We know times are tight. We know you have been tapped to give in more ways than you could have ever imagined AND we are so appreciative that you see yourself and your family as part of the Central “intersections” that lift up every student to thrive and lean into those places of growth.

Thank you for considering making a gift that works for your family. And thank you, thank you, for all you do and have done for the Central community.

We are Central STRONG!

Your Central PAC Co-Chairs,

Sunny Kase and Anika Ward
