Quality dental care and preventive education for all.
Thank you for knowing that we all do better when everyone in our community has access to quality dental care. Last year, with support from people like YOU, Community Dental Care provided nearly $1 million in charity care and preventive education. With your help, we can provide care through 110,000 patient visits for children and adults at our five dental clinics and through outreach in community settings.
Like you, we believe everyone deserves a healthy smile, yet many of the children and adults we care for experience high rates of dental decay. Dental decay is progressive and, when left untreated, can seriously impact an individual’s quality of life. Untreated tooth decay and infections can lead to missed school or work days, low self-esteem, systemic health complications and, in worst cases, death.
Flora’s Story - Flora was referred to us from the local hospital. Flora went to the emergency room with unbearable pain from a tooth ache. She was unable to eat due to a large abscess caused by an infection and was in pain for several days. She ate oatmeal and instant mashed potatoes, as she shared they were the only two things she could manage eating. Flora did not have dental insurance and with a fixed income, was unsure how she could afford treatment.
Through the Care Grants Fund, donations provide direct dental treatment for people in need. Flora received a Care Grant to cover the cost of her exam, x-ray and extraction.
“The clinic was a lifesaver today,” Flora shared. “I am very grateful. Thank you all so very much.”
Your generosity makes this possible. Charitable contributions allow us to provide quality dental care to people who urgently need it. Because you give, we can say YES to individuals like Flora who don’t know where to turn for help.
Your gift, no matter how big or small, will help children and adults suffering from dental disease receive the treatment they need today. $250 will help a patient just like Flora. That’s less than $25 a month. A contribution of $1,000 will sustain our mission so we can continue to meet the needs of the underserved.
