CASA Minnesota

A nonprofit organization

At CASA MN, our mission is to serve children and youth in the child protection system by enriching their lives through advocacy, access to resources, and fostering meaningful connections.

Championing Children Through Advocacy

We help recruit, recognize, and retain volunteer Guardians ad Litem (GALs) who represent the best interests of abused and neglected children during court proceedings. GALs ensure that in the often-overburdened system, a child’s voice and needs are never overlooked—especially when decisions about education, medical care, family visits, and living arrangements are made.

Volunteer GALs come from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences, which often helps them connect deeply with the children they serve. Research shows that children with a volunteer GAL have fewer placements, receive more services, and report higher levels of hope.

CASA Cares: Bringing Joy and Opportunity

Through our CASA Cares grants, we help children in foster care learn, connect, and grow. All kids deserve the opportunity to just be kids. CASA Cares provides more than material gifts—it offers moments of joy and relief from stressful and uncertain circumstances.

While children are in foster care, CASA grants fund activities and resources that support their personal growth and development, which aren’t covered by other programs. Since the program began, CASA MN has distributed nearly $200,000 in direct grants to children.

You Can Make a Difference

Whether you support our volunteers, contribute to CASA Cares grants, or make an unrestricted gift, your donation creates lasting change in the lives of children and youth in foster care.

On behalf of every child we serve—thank you for your generosity.
