Builders Institute

We provide advance construction training to young adults, empowering them to higher levels of achievement to bridge the income disparity.

Neighborhood Youth Community Development (NYCD) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) program designed to provide advanced skill training, education and on-the-job training for young adults. We exist to assist individuals in developing their ability to earn and to become contributing citizens in their community. We strengthen the community by preparing young adults to become self-sufficient.

The accredited training will be delivered by Builders Institute, a subsidiary of NYCD. The advanced training is designed to provide the missing link for students that have completed a basic construction training program.  The first phase of our vision is being accomplished through our relationship with Twin City Community Land Bank where we generate revenue through the acquisition and rehab of residential properties. NYCD has acquired its first home and we are in the process of renovating the property.  The relationship with Twin City Community Land Bank and other acquisitions will provide our students with hands-on-training as well as the ability to earn wages.

We also are seeking grants and donations to fund the expenses associated with this program. The costs associated with this vision are many, but with the support of the community and donors we will be changing lives in the community.
