Building Extended BBBS  Families in 2021

At Big Big Brothers Big Sisters, we believe every child has potential.

When you support BBBS, you not only helped us create and support more life-changing relationships for Twin Cities youth, you also create entire networks of extended families.

What are the benefits of a BBBS family?  Let Dominique, a BBBS parent, explain the impact your gift can have.

Dominique is a loving parent and works really hard for her family. A few years ago, she partnered with BBBS to provide her kids with another caring adult in their lives.

Now, five of her seven children are enrolled in our youth mentoring program.

“They have one-on-one time with someone other than myself. They have the opportunity to open up to other people. When the other kids saw that my two oldest kids had Bigs, everybody wanted a Big! Now we're like a big happy family, and I like it.”

– Dominique, mom of 5 BBBS Littles

This experience has not only changed her kids' lives for the better, but has also made an impact on the volunteer mentors as well.

“What I love most about the program is the personal growth that empowers me to hang in long term and that I can see my Little Brother’s evolution”

– Mikal, Big Brother to Anthony (age 12)

This is a testament to your investment in Big Brothers Big Sisters. Not only are we supporting life changing relationships, we're also building extended BBBS families!

This is only possible with your support.

SpringForwardMN is another opportunity for our community to come together in support of Minnesota nonprofits. Your gift will allow us to continue creating extended families that change lives for the better, forever! Thank you for joining us on this journey. Remember, we are #BiggerTogether!

Building extended families takes work. We rely on supporters like you to recruit new mentors, make new matches, and keep kids connected to critical resources in our community.

  • $1,200 creates and supports matches
  • $535 supports college and career readiness resources for BBBS teens
  • $255 recruits additional mentors and moves Littles off the waiting list
  • $120 covers the cost of background checks for three new mentors

Mentored youth excel in many areas of their lives. It's the student who makes measurable gains in academic performance. It's the child who transforms from withdrawn to confident. It's the young adult who now has hope and a plan for the future. Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities seeks to defend the potential that lives within all children to realize their biggest possible future.
