Support Education, Mental Health and Juvenile Justice services for struggling children and youth

The Behavioral Institute for Children and Adolescents (BICA) seeks to promote the well-being of children and youth with emotional and behavioral challenges by working with families and professionals in the fields of juvenile justice, mental health and education. We impact children’s lives by empowering others with knowledge and skills. With an investment of $100, we can provide materials and training to implement a literacy intervention program for challenging, traumatized and at-risk youth. One-trained professional will conservatively impact 600 youth over time.

“Those privileged to touch the lives of children and youth should constantly be aware that their impact on a single child may affect a multitude of others a thousand years from now.” - Anonymous

Our focus on key influencers in children’s lives can result in an exponential impact. For example, when just one teacher participates in a training event and improves his/her classroom skills, 25 students immediately benefit. That translates to 600 or more during a 30-year teaching career. The additional benefits of that individual sharing new skills within his/her grade-level team or with other colleagues, multiplies the impact by 4-5 or more teachers to potentially reach 3,000 youth or more.
