Help kids build healthy eating habits!

This past year, the Audubon Farmers Market (a program of the Audubon Neighborhood Association) ran a program called Power of Produce, or PoP for short. That program was sponsored by local businesses and allowed each child who came to the farmers market to get $2 worth of fruits or vegetables for free. The program was highly successful with over 260 kids participating in 2024 and we're looking to grow it in 2025, but we need your help!

Our 1/2 acre Northeast Market Garden hosted 6 Emerging Farmers and 4 teen interns in 2024. Growing produce for sale in the Audubon Farmers Market, neighboring restaurants as well as for donation to local food shelves, we are able to provide the infrastructure while our farmers focus on growing and improving their techniques. When kids purchase their produce at the Audubon Farmers Market, they can walk through the garden and look at our various micro-farms. Parents will frequently quiz their kids on what the vegetables they just purchased look like when they're growing!

The mission of the Audubon Neighborhood Association is to encourage interaction and involvement among the people in our neighborhood and its organizations; to foster the continuing improvement of property and businesses within its boundaries; to increase security and safety within the neighborhood; to convey to other organizations, including government and business, the concerns of the neighbors represented.
