The geographic area of Atwater, once home to Native Americans, European Settlers and gradually people of other ethnic backgrounds who came to live here-- was officially incorporated in 1876. Atwater became a bustling small town complete with many businesses, points of interest, and stories!
The AAHS, once a music store, and adjacent building, a former Farmers State Bank-- both undergoing a restoration and renovation project-- needs your help to build on the stories, objects and facility we are creating for our community. Come visit: we house the collection of Civil War Veteran Peter O Hall. And we are fortunate to have an outstanding genealogy researcher, who, along with our part-time coordinator (with a college history major)-- uncover new information weekly!
Each new donation will be matched dollar for dollar by the Tom & Ruth Danielson Foundation! NOTE: This match offer is ongoing!
Let's work together to preserve the history and objects of our past.
