Supporting People with Developmental Disabilities in Living Their Best Lives!

Advocacy & Inclusion Matter of West Central Minnesota (AIM) is a nonprofit serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their loved ones by providing wellness, advocacy, and social inclusion programs.  With your support, we have made the Willmar area one of the most inclusive communities for people with disabilities!  It is our mission to protect the dignity and human rights of people with disabilities and to ensure they have the same opportunities as anyone else.  Inclusion is our passion!

At AIM, we believe having choices and living self-directed lives are a large part of protecting the dignity of person. Communities are at their best when its people choose for themselves how they live, learn, work and play! Perhaps one the programs that AIM is best known for is People First.  This is a group that works together to develop self-advocacy skills, meaning that each individual promotes personal independence in his/her own way.  People First members have used their advocacy skills to find jobs they enjoy, housing, activities that suit them, and opportunities to become the person he/she wants to be.  People First members are also very active in volunteering!  It means so much to them that they have opportunities to give back to a community that has been so supportive in the independent living philosophy.

Thank you for supporting AIM.  Together we do make a difference!
