UPDATE: (5.29.2020, 10:00 AM): In response to the death of George Floyd and the looting that's impacted the community we are now looking to double our goal and raise $5000. Many people are without grocery stores and public transportation due to the looting that's happened in the past 48 hours so the need for food shelves has increased drastically. Please donate and share with your networks.
UPDATE (5.17.2020, 9:00 PM): We set a final goal of $2,500! Let's finish strong!

As Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated celebrates 100 years of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood, communities across the globe have been struck with the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, including our local Twin Cities community.
Hallie Q. Brown Community Center, a Sigma Beta Zeta chapter community partner, has been faithfully serving the community for over 90 years, and the pandemic has significantly decreased revenue sources that allow them to give thousands of pounds of free food to the community through their Food Shelf. In a time of economic insecurity for many, programs like this are needed now more than ever.
We want to support Hallie Q. Brown in a major way with a $1,000 donation for their Food Shelf program. According to Hallie Q. Brown, for every $1, they can purchase up to 13 pounds of food. Thus, reaching our goal would mean providing 13,000 POUNDS of free food for the Food Shelf! Every dollar counts. Help us reach this goal to meet a pressing need during this difficult time.
