$6,600 Goal

Support the Next Generation of Urban Farmers!

The Minneapolis Urban Farm Academy trains farmers of color to plant, grow, and share food with their communities. Donate today to cover tuition for this year’s students!

Join us in raising funds for the first students of the Minneapolis Urban Farm Academy, in the program’s first-ever growing season! This year's cohort consists of 12 farmers representing multiple countries, languages, and cultures. Students attended their first class last month and have already begun planting seedlings!

Our Goal

Program costs are $550 for each farming student. We want to raise $6,600 and cover the FULL cost of tuition for ALL TWELVE students. Will you join us?

More about the Urban Farming Academy –

The Urban Farm Academy is led by and focuses on Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in Minneapolis. The farmers will gain business and practical farming knowledge essential to launch an urban farm serving Minneapolis residents. Urban Farm Academy provides the group with support, seeds, farming space, and a shared stall at the farmer's market.

The Minneapolis Urban Farm Academy is a project of Plant-Grow-Share, a vital part of the Central and Bryant neighborhoods in South Minneapolis. Plant-Grow-Share is a grassroots food justice program that shows what's possible when neighbors share time, talent, and land in accessible and inclusive ways. This includes providing seeds, plant starts, free community garden space, and food-growing education to community members. To learn more about Plant-Grow-Share, visit their website at www.plantgrowsharempls.com.

Who We Are

We are the South Central Minneapolis chapter of European Dissent, and we are organizing this fundraiser in solidarity with and support of Plant-Grow-Share. Our European Descent/Dissent Group began meeting in 2021, at the request of Black leadership, to grow our effectiveness as white people in the struggle against racism.

The Minneapolis Urban Farm Academy will build power, support land access, and foster community, particularly in the Bryant and Central neighborhoods where it is organized.
