Jess and Matt joined Mile in My Shoes in 2020 and 2015 because we believe that a mile can change you and all people deserve a chance to feel that life changing magic. Plus, our best connections and conversations have come from sharing miles on the road. Jess is currently the Team Leader with VOA Roseville and Matt is on the Board of Directors as Co-Chair.
To support Mile in My Shoes, we're giving YOU the opportunity (again) to vote with your dollars for the matching onsies for our 2023 Holiday Card. Every dollar goes toward choosing one of the three options.
How does MiMS work? We partner with residents in shelters and re-entry centers to build a running community that also includes a broad base of volunteers from throughout the Twin Cities. Runners meet three times a week for a group run, pairing up one Run Mentor to one Resident Member with the goal of increasing physical and mental fitness and forming uncommon bonds.
By donating to Mile in My Shoes, you're helping provide shoes, running gear, race entries, and more to our members.
Your gift puts us in position to build on our big accomplishments during 2023. To share just a few, MiMS has:
- Engaged more new Members than ever before (over 150!)
- Trained and supported nearly a dozen Alumni as they transitioned from Member to Mentor
- Welcomed a more diverse crowd to our Downtown Run Around 5K, giving away over 200 entries
- Learned from the experts - our Members and Alumni - about recovery, housing challenges, and mental health through our “Voices of” series
