Miracle Field of Shakopee

The Miracle League of Shakopee is bringing an all abilities baseball field to Tahpah Park, creating a place where every child can experience the joy, connection, and confidence that come from being part of a team. This project will give thousands of local kids a field designed specifically for athletes with physical or cognitive disabilities, ensuring that every child has a safe and welcoming place to play ball.

The core of the project is the construction of a fully accessible Miracle League field. Unlike traditional fields, Miracle League fields use a custom rubberized turf that allows wheelchairs, walkers, and mobility devices to move freely and safely. The field will include accessible dugouts, barrier free pathways, and inclusive viewing areas for families and caregivers. Every inch is intentionally designed to remove barriers and create a true sense of belonging.

This effort is a partnership among the City of Shakopee, the Shakopee Lions, and the Shakopee Baseball Association, all committed to building a community space where every child can participate. The Miracle League of Shakopee will host league play, events, and activities for athletes of all abilities, giving kids the chance to make friends, develop confidence, and experience the joy of being part of the game.
