Approximately 200 local children depend on weekend nutrition – and we need your help! The Menahga/Sebeka Backpack Program, a vital collaboration supported by CHI St. Joseph's Health, ensures students in need don't go hungry over the weekend.

For many, school meals are their most reliable source of nutrition. The Backpack Program fills the weekend gap by sending home bags of kid-friendly, nutritious food each Friday. The program's goal is simple: ensure every child has enough to eat, seven days a week.

This program, run by dedicated volunteers, supports 200 children across both school districts. This number reflects a significant need in the area. The program bridges the gap between Friday lunch and Monday breakfast, helping students return to school ready to learn and free from hunger.

Consistent nutrition isn't just about full stomachs; it's crucial for academic success, improved attendance, and overall well-being. By alleviating food insecurity, the Backpack Program empowers these young learners to thrive.

This is truly a community effort. Every donation directly provides essential food items. The program relies solely on donations and is currently facing critical times. The generosity of friends and neighbors allows this meaningful work to continue.

Thank you for your support and care for the children in our community.
