19.3 Miles for Purpose and Belonging — Supporting

On October 3 and 4, I will take on the 2026 TC Loony Challenge—three races over two days, totaling 19.3 miles.

I will begin Saturday with the TC 10K, followed by the TC 5K, and return Sunday morning to complete the Medtronic TC 10 Mile. It will be a demanding weekend, but I want every mile to stand for something much greater than crossing a finish line.

I am dedicating this challenge to Rise, an organization that is very close to my heart. I have served as Cummins’ liaison to Rise since 2018 and as a member of Rise’s Board of Directors since 2022. Through these roles, I have had the privilege of learning more about Rise’s work and seeing the meaningful difference it makes in people’s lives.

Rise helps people with disabilities and others facing barriers build meaningful, purpose-filled lives. Through employment, housing, and life-enrichment services, the organization creates opportunities for people to grow, connect, contribute, and experience greater independence and belonging.

Running reminds me that progress is rarely made in one giant leap. It happens one step at a time—with perseverance, encouragement, and the support of people who believe in us. That spirit closely reflects the work Rise does every day: opening doors and helping people move toward their own goals and possibilities.
