$250 goal

The last 8 months I've been with this organization have been the most rewarding of my life. Every day I get to dedicate my time and energy actively making a difference in the lives of people across Southwest Minnesota. Everyone I work with shares a passion for our shared goal of partnering with communities to develop places for people to call home.

If you have the means, please consider a donation to this worthy cause. Every dollar we receive gives far more value back to the communities we serve. Investing in us is investing in our mission.

For more than 30 years, the Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership (SWMHP) has partnered with communities to build places for people to call home. Since 1992, we’ve believed that home is more than a structure—it’s where connection begins, where people gather, and where communities grow stronger together.

This Give to the Max Day, I’m supporting SWMHP because I believe in Giving That Gathers Us Home—the kind of giving that turns vision into places where people belong.

This year, SWMHP took major steps in Bringing Families Home:

  • Provided a variety of services across our 30-county region—from homebuyer education and supportive housing to helping communities develop housing plans and secure grant funding.

  • Entered into a purchase agreement to acquire the historic Good Counsel campus in Mankato for adaptive reuse, ensuring this beloved site continues to serve families and the community for generations to come.

  • Expanded the Partnership Community Land Trust, with plans for an additional 20 homes in the next 18 months.

  • Completed the renovation of Royal Manor II in Alexandria, preserving 24 homes and ensuring comfort, accessibility, and affordability for years to come.

Stories like Callie’s show what this work means. When she found the opportunity to buy a home through the Partnership Community Land Trust, she called it “meant to be.”

“I felt supported every step of the way. Being able to have a home that fits my needs and make my own is something I'm very grateful for."

Giving That Gathers Us

This year’s Give to the Max Day theme—“Giving That Gathers Us”—couldn’t fit SWMHP better. Our work has always been about gathering people: builders, bankers, city partners, donors, and neighbors who believe that when one family comes home, the whole community grows stronger.

Your gift—no matter the size—helps keep that promise alive. Together, we can ensure that southern Minnesota remains a place where everyone has access to a welcoming home, and every place has a thriving and equitable community.

For more than three decades, SWMHP has developed, financed, or rehabilitated over 10,000 housing units, invested $750 million, and opened doors to homeownership for 7,400 households across 30 communities.

This legacy continues because of people like you—people who know that when we gather to give, we build more than homes; we build hope.
