For more than a century, the Winona Symphony Orchestra (WSO) has been a cornerstone of the arts in our region — the oldest arts organization in Southeast Minnesota and a proud symbol of Winona’s rich musical heritage.

Your generosity keeps this tradition alive and thriving. Every donation helps us make music an accessible and vital part of our community — especially through our annual Children’s Concert, which is always free for elementary students from Winona and neighboring rural schools.

Over the past three years, the WSO has expanded its educational reach with our Music in the Schools program, bringing small ensembles of professional musicians directly into classrooms. These engaging school programs connect music and visual art, sparking creativity and curiosity in young learners. Students don’t just hear the music — they experience it firsthand through meaningful interaction with the performers.

Our “Water Music” chamber series continues to connect audiences to music in intimate and innovative ways, blending tradition with discovery. From timeless masterpieces by Beethoven and Mozart to bold new works by living composers, the WSO celebrates both heritage and progress.
