At Mizna, they know the power of bearing witness and they have continued to be a site for cultural production and critical engagement, supporting artists who are leading the way.
With screenings, readings, and solidarity fundraisers, Mizna is committed to gathering with our communities, in sorrow, in rage, in celebration, in resistance, in resilience.
Aside from publishing their star-studded issue of Mizna: Translational, work is nearing completion on the Gaza Folio, a special printed and online collection of writing and art from Palestinian artists in Gaza, and Mizna is thrilled to announce its launch this summer.
During the height of ICE’s occupation of the Twin Cities, Mizna hosted a community gathering which highlighted SWANA voices, including local Somali poet Muna Abdulahi reading her elegy for Renee Good “This Poem Is Good,” which can also be read on Mizna Online, available to you for free, without a paywall.
