Since Ladd Everitt of the Washington, DC area visited Minneapolis in late January 2026 to volunteer as a Commuter (driver following ICE vehicles), he and friend/colleague Heather Anderson of Tennessee have been raising money for important causes in the city, which has been under siege by agents with ICE since December 2025.
Initially, Ladd and Heather raised $1,060 to buy 30 body and dash cams for volunteers working as on-foot Observers and Commuters with the mobile patrol dispatch in Southside. This equipment allows them to drive safely while following and filming ICE vehicles. It also prevents them from having to shell out hundreds of dollars out-of-pocket if their phone is stolen by an ICE agent in the field (e.g., ICE is now stealing the phone of every person they detain in Minneapolis).
Now, Ladd and Heather are raising money for Isuroon, a wonderful nonprofit headquartered in Minneapolis that provides Somali women in Minnesota with access to health, financial literacy, civic engagement, and leadership programs. Somali women are an extremely vulnerable population being targeted by ICE, and they need the assistance of their fellow Americans in this moment.
Please help if you can! I know the goal is ambitious, but I also believe we can do it!
